CBS The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers and updates reveal actor Scott Clifton (Liam Spencer) was not on the list of Emmy nominations for 2020. While some fans went on Twitter to ask why the awards ceremony has a procedure. In order for an actor to get a nomination, they must submit reels. Scott Clifton chose not to do it this year. Keep reading to find out his possible reasons for skipping the chance to win an award.
The Bold And The Beautiful Updates – The Emmy Award Nomination Process
Some B&B fans assume that an actor’s work on soaps is noticed, they are nominated, then one is chosen at the awards ceremony. However, that’s not how the Emmy awards process works.
In order to receive a nomination, actors must submit a few reels of what they feel is their best work. Then, nominations are chosen from one of these submitted reels. It’s possible for an actor to receive multiple nominations (one per eligible category) for the same reel (a particular scene in layman’s terms).
B&B Spoilers – Actor Won In Every Eligible Category Already
While some actors have aspirations to win awards every single year, others are satisfied with winning once. Clifton didn’t explain his decision (and he doesn’t have to). However, he has already won in every eligible category for his portrayal of Liam Spencer.
In previous years, Clifton won Outstanding Younger Leading Actor in 2011, Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2013, and Outstanding Lead Actor in 2017.
The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Scott Clifton Confirms Non-Submission
The actor went to Twitter to congratulate his co-stars on The Bold and the Beautiful who scored Emmy nominations. These include Annika Noelle (Hope Logan), Thorsten Kaye (Ridge Forrester), and Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang). Twitter user @cprsmom3 replied to Clifton’s post and mentioned not seeing his name in the nominations list. The actor confirmed he was not nominated because he didn’t submit himself this year. However, he added that the day was filled with nothing but good news.
B&B Spoilers – Possible Reasons
So, why wouldn’t Clifton want a chance to be nominated and win an Emmy award? The ceremony might end up interfering with other plans or he could not enjoy the whole awards ceremony (not all actors like being in the spotlight!). Maybe he already achieved his goal of winning gold in every possible eligible category.
He could want to give others a chance to have their Emmy dreams come true, too. The actor is known for his generosity, kindness, and encouraging others to reach the stars. So, this definitely sounds like it might be the case!
The 47th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards is scheduled to air live on Friday, June 26 at 8 pm ET.
