In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest, Noelle discussed the addiction storyline. As of right now, Hope doesn’t suspect that Steffy is becoming addicted to pain pills. However, she does feel that something isn’t right due to Steffy having an extreme reaction to Hope trying to take Kelly.

“She lost Phoebe to Hope, so you can’t blame her for being wary of Hope’s intentions… Hope is coming from a good place of concern and wanting Steffy to take care of herself, but she knows Steffy is going to be stubborn and wants to do it all herself.”

While nobody suspects that Steffy is becoming addicted, she goes through a sudden personality change that concerns loved ones. While Hope is one of the first to get verbally assaulted by Steffy in a very un-Steffy-like way, others will soon make concerning observations.

Executive producer and head writer Bradley Bell told the magazine in the fall preview section that everyone is becoming concerned about Steffy. They will notice her personality change, irritability, and wonder if she can properly care for Kelly right now.

      Hope is totally out of line. Steffy has a large family if hope was really concerned about her she should have mention it to her family. She is her mothers daughter and wants to take everything that Steffy has.

      If Steffy is whacked out on pain killers someone needs to watch out for Kelly. Ridge has his own life in shambles, Taylor is no where to be found and Thomas is questionable as to what kind of support he'd offer. Hope and Liam are the natural choice to help with Kelly while Steffy deals with her addiction.
