Brooke’s often out-sized thoughts and feelings about what she thinks do not answer the question. Rather than getting off-track, as conversations with and about Brooke can become, let us focus on Taylor’s point.

Is Taylor right when saying that Thomas is better? That answer appears to be a cautious yes. He has demonstrated no signs of mental health issues that crippled him in the recent past.

So, does that mean Douglas should move from the cabin to live with his dad? No, he should not.

Brooke sees that Douglas is happy and well-adjusted living with Lope. He embraced Hope in the past, which was Thomas’ heartfelt intent after Caroline Spencer (Linsey Godfrey) unexpectedly died.

Hope filled an immeasurable space in Douglas’ life. Taylor has not been around to witness his transformation from a grieving child into a happy elementary schooler who loves his extended family.

Thomas could choose to spend more time with Douglas beyond what he already does. However, uprooting his son would be unwise.

Douglas loves Hope, respects his stepdad, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), and stepsister Beth Spencer (Madeline Valdez and River Davidson).

The Lope arrangement has also allowed Thomas to view Hope in a healthy manner and create a respectful connection with Liam. Renewed battles are likely if this pot is stirred by Taylor.
