However, Justin exploited what proved to be a hit-and-run trap in the recent past. Bill and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) were temporarily jailed for the seeming accidental death of Thomas’ friend, Vincent Walker (Joe LoCicero).

Justin used the situation to take control of Spencer Publications in Bill’s absence. Thomas was eventually taken hostage by Justin in the basement of the corporate building where Bill’s company is based.

Thomas went to Bill, relayed what happened, and provided evidence of the reveal about Justin.

Justin was out of sorts during that period in the plot. He realized how far off-course he went after being exposed by Thomas, but Bill had none of it.

Bill fired Justin and told him that he was dead to him. Their friendship has not revived, and Bill has seemingly not filled the role Justin held.
