Thomas has been trying to help his son Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) to open up to him about a secret.

Thomas could see that Douglas was struggling with a secret that he was keeping. Douglas saw Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) kiss Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) on New Year’s Eve. Douglas told his adopted mother Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) and her husband Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) what he saw. They did not believe him at first because he thought Brooke had kissed Santa Claus.

Brooke has not wanted her husband Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) to find out that she kissed Deacon and wanted Douglas to keep the secret. Thomas knows that Douglas does not like to lie. Thomas has not been in a serious relationship for a long time. Thomas had been interested in Hope but has found a way to accept that Hope wants to be with Liam. Thomas helped Liam to get out of trouble with the law when he was being accused of killing Vincent Walker (Joe LoCicero). Thomas made sure that the truth came out so that Hope did not lose Liam. Thomas had thought that he wanted to get into a relationship with Paris Buckingham (Diamond White). Thomas told Paris that he was interested in her but she was in a relationship with Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz). Thomas stepped aside so that Paris would not lose Zende. Thomas has not found anyone that he could be in a committed relationship with.

Douglas loves Hope and Liam but they have not put Douglas first in regards to the situation with Brooke. Thomas put Douglas’ needs before others and helped him to tell the truth about seeing Brooke kiss Deacon.
