The Bold and The Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveals In any “who’s the daddy” storyline on a soap, someone messes with paternity test results. On B&B in Los Angeles drug dealer Vinny Walker (Joe LoCicero) has suddenly morphed into a lab tech with advanced skills in genetics and IT. He wears a white coat! Peers into a microscope!

When challenged about the results of Steffy Forrester’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) paternity test, Vinny bellows, “I ran the test! Science and DNA gave the answer!” Well, no. A paternity test would’ve been done at an outside lab. It’s not simple like a glucose reading.

Steffy got knocked up by her ex after Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) saw nemesis Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) kissing a mannequin resembling wife Hope Logan (Annika Noelle), freaked out, and seduced Steffy. It happens.

Of course Steffy conceived, because no one on B&B uses birth control. Who’s the daddy? Liam’s single shot or boyfriend hunky doc John Finnegan (“ Finn”) (Tanner Novlan)?

Steffy had a paternity test, and it’s just barely possible to have results now. But that’s assuming that Steffy’s pregnancy is progressing in real time, not “wardrobe change time.” Since it takes Steffy and Hope 5 days, typically, to change their work outfits, which normal people do daily, then that timeframe would make Steffy preggers for 45 months. That’s two elephant pregnancies.

Altering a paternity test result would be extremely difficult, if not impossible.

B&B Spoilers  – Paper Lab Report

The test compares the sizes of snippets of fetal DNA in the woman’s bloodstream to the sizes of the same snippets in a potential daddy. Eighty pieces are tallied, displayed as four lists of 20 numbers. “If some pieces of the fetal DNA aren’t also in the DNA of the man and pregnant woman,” he’s out of the running.

For a paper lab report, Vinny would’ve had to be a whiz with white-out to doctor the data. But on March 1 Finn asked Vinny to find results for another patient, on the computer.

Paper or screen, Vinny would’ve had to change some numbers and replace “0 chance” that Finn’s the daddy with “99.9998% chance.” Ditto change “the sample is excluded as the biological father” to “the sample is not excluded as the biological father.” Most online documents – PDF, scanned jpeg, word – couldn’t be altered without leaving an echo.

But Finn now knows that Vinny’s a lab tech and a friend of Thomas, the mannequin molester responsible for this whole mess. Stay tuned! The light bulb is about to go off in the befuddled doc’s head.
