Stick in the middle of their squabble is Brooke. At first, Brooke was against Hope having any contact with Deacon. But after listening to her daughter’s side of the story, Brooke supporting Hope’s decision. Of course Brooke’s change of heart will shock Ridge and create more tension in their marriage.

Brooke and Deacon’s affair began because she was upset over losing Ridge. With her and Ridge having issues, this paves the way for Deacon to make his move.

Deacon loves Brooke and a part of him never stopped caring for her. He’s been there for her through her many ups and downs. The two are a lot alike being that they’re troubled souls, always looking for a second chance.

Deep down Deacon wonders what could’ve been. He, Brooke, and Hope could’ve been a family if the circumstances were different.

Maybe now the three of them can be a family. But first Ridge needs to be removed from the picture. Deacon’s presence will create further tension in Bridge’s marriage. It may be enough to end the couple and send Brooke back into Deacon’s arms.
