The Bold And The Beautiful’s Annika Noelle Shares News Of Tragic Miscarriages

On The Bold and the Beautiful, Annika Noelle’s Hope had to deal with the idea of her little girl being stillborn when in a completely soapy story, her healthy baby was switched with another baby due to the dastardly Dr. Reese Buckingham. For nearly a year, Hope mourned Baby Beth without realizing she was with her all along whenever she held Baby Phoebe, who was really Beth and inadvertently adopted by Steffy Forrester.

After Noelle played out that story and received an Emmy nomination for it, she learned that she and her fiance were expecting and she was thrilled. As she wrote in Glamour Magazine on October 12: “Immediately my shopping carts became full of baby books and my browser tabs full of information from bassinets to doulas to red-light baby dream machines,” Noelle wrote in an essay in which she opens up about pregnancy loss. “The following weeks became a flurry of doctor appointments, blood work, and ultrasounds, all squeezed around my busy filming schedule. It was only until the progesterone results came in that everything began to unravel.”

B&B Spoilers – Annika Noelle Experiences Two Excruciating Losses

Noelle had lost her child at 10 weeks along and underwent a D&C afterward rather than allowing her body to carry a baby with no heartbeat. Although the D&C was physically painful as the drugs she was given did not work, she was determined to try again and did. Sadly, she experienced another early loss with her second pregnancy, learning what had happened at an ultrasound.

“The ultrasound technician looked down on me with both gentleness and the steely resolve of someone who has had to deliver bad news far too often: ‘I’m sorry, there doesn’t seem to be a heartbeat.” And just like that, I had lost my second child in a matter of months.'”

The actress explains in her essay that she had not told anyone she was pregnant and now wishes she had, so she would have more people to support her through both of her losses. It’s the new abortion laws in many states, that would even force women to carry fetuses with no heartbeat, that prompted her to open up about what she experienced.

“Anyone who follows me on social media can tell you I’m a deeply private person. But if there is one thing I’ve gained from my loss, it is a voice I’m no longer afraid to use,” Noelle wrote. “Especially at a time when women can be criminally charged for pregnancy loss, are losing autonomy over their own body, and the United States ranks last overall among industrialized countries in maternal mortality, our voices need to be heard. It is a disservice to keep the experience of women in the shadows of silence. I hope we can continue to give ourselves permission to share these experiences so that, one by one, our voices can grow from a murmur into a resounding chorus. In doing so, we can feel a little less alone and a whole lot more brave. Because we need each other. And I got your back.”
