Why did Ronn Moss really leave Bold and Beautiful? The CBS Bold and the Beautiful spoilers reveal that the soap’s flashback episodes are teasing fans’ memories. Some vintage episode characters are still on The Bold and the Beautiful while some are not, and some have been recast—we almost need a scorecard to keep track!
For instance, John McCook is still going strong as Eric Forrester, while his onscreen wife, Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) has passed. And then there’s their son, Ridge Forrester. At this time the role is in the hands of Thorsten Kaye. But in the flashback Bold and the Beautiful episodes we see Ronn Moss in the role. What gives? Why did Ronn Moss leave one of the most visible roles in daytime?

Ronn Moss himself made it known that one of the reasons he left was his memory. Unfortunately, in 2012, Ronn was in a car accident, along with his wife.
The handsome and talented star has gone on record as saying that following the accident it was very hard for him to remember things. That in and of itself would be scary for anyone, but for an actor it would be a serious career hindrance.

Ridge is a central character from a core family, so he was usually front and center necessitating plenty of memorization of lines.
Did Ronn want Ridge to be recast – Bold and Beautiful Comings and Goings
Thorsten Kaye has won over legions of fans for his portrayal of Ridge, heir apparent to Forrester Creations. But when he left, Ronn was hoping the role would not be recast!
It must be hard to craft a character from the ground up and then see someone else take your place. This appears to be the case with Ronn based on some of his more recent comments, including his opinion that Thorsten should have been given a new role. What do you think? I always wondered why he left. That’s a shame.
I was really disappointed when Ronn Moss left the show. He was my absolute favorite character. I had no idea that he was in a car accident. So sorry to hear this. Godspeed to him and I hope he is doing ok. To me he will always be the one and only Ridge Forrester.
I always wondered y Ronn Miss left. Hate to hear he was in a car accident. Glad he’s ok. He’s my favorite Ridge but Thorsten is better as Thomas & Steffy’s Father. It would be hard for Ronn also as a musician b/c of the trouble with his memory problems. I hope he’s doing well.
That’s very interesting. I didn’t know. I do enjoy Thorsten Kaye though because of his humor.
Ronn will ALWAYS be Ridge & I will ALWAYS long for him to be with Caroline Ridge's one true love. Brooke was always the envious hater of Caroline and when Caroline died Brooke swooped in like a vulture and got Ridge when he was mourning and vulnerable. Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) should NEVER have been paired with Ridge.
