Why Did Stephanie Forrester Leave Bold and the Beautiful

The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers scoop reveals that fans are enjoying the show’s flashback episodes, especially those that include Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery). This week we’ve seen her large and in charge with Eric Forrester (John McCook) as they run Forrester Creations, the family design business.

These two look so natural together, like bread and butter, salt and pepper, that it’s hard to imagine why Stephanie isn’t still front and center along with John.  Fans are wondering why did Stephanie Forrester leave The Bold and the Beautiful and we’ve got the answer!

Stephanie debuted in 1987 and her portrayer, Susan Flannery, won an Emmy for her rousing performance. Unfortunately, Stephanie received a lung cancer diagnosis and she succumbed to the disease on November 26, 2012.

On October 10, 2012, the announcement was made that Flannery was leaving the popular CBS sudser after a twenty-five year run. In an interview with TV Guide, Bradley Bell described the details surrounding her exit which comes after dying from her illness.

“It is huge. And amazing. I knew this day was coming but I’ve been in denial about it,” he said. “I’ve been loving and treasuring every one of these last few days we have with Susan.”

Nonetheless Stephanie did make a few more appearance after her death, most notably in a flashback on November 26, 2012, and via video recording on December 7 and 10, 2012. Then, on February 9, 2018 her voice was heard at Brooke and Ridge’s wedding.

The Bold and the Beautiful Updates – Brooke and Stephanie share a complex relationship

After an argument with Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) in 2010, Stephanie collapsed. She was taken to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.

Stephanie swore Brooke to secrecy about her health and Stephanie refused treatment. A young stranger, Dayzee Leigh (Kristolyn Lloyd), changed Stephanie’s mind about treatment. The girl was on Skid Row and Stephanie befriended her then became appalled at the living conditions there.

Subsequently Stephanie was determined to survive her cancer in order to be an anti-poverty advocate. Much to everyone’s relief Stephanie’s treatment was a success.

Bold and the Beautiful Comings and Goings – Stephanie’s cancer returned and this time she would not survive

But Stephanie’s clean bill of health did not last. She was diagnosed again in 2012 and this time was told that the disease had spread and that she had zero chance of survival.

After hearing the news, Stephanie had a glorious party so that she could see her loved ones one last time.
