There’s one thing we know for sure in this fictional version of Los Angeles. Paris Buckingham (Diamond White( is special. At least that’s what everyone keeps telling us. There is nobody as amazing in this world as this wonder named Paris. She is great at her job, she can sing the National Anthem at professional major league baseball games, she is great with Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri), she is great with Hayes. Paris is just great. But, um, what is her purpose?

We understand she was originally brought on the soap to give Zoe Buckingham more of a family and an anchor on the show, but then Kiara Barnes landed another gig and quit, with Zoe moving to Europe and Paris apparently having no money to find her own apartment. So, very special Paris moved into Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) house because she got Hayes to stop crying one day and started fantasizing about a shirtless Finn (Tanner Novlan) after she was already supposed to be dating Zende Forrester (Delon De Metz).

The more Paris got to know Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson), the more he thought she was special, and she ended up living with him too, making love to Zende in the other bedroom. Paris had to let poor Thomas down easy and then Zende believed this was the woman for him, but wait, Paris is not sure.

Paris is never sure about men, so very special Paris then forged a friendship with Zoe’s ex, Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor), a man as confused about women as Liam once was and probably will be again. Now, she wants Carter while Zende wants to marry her. How could so much have happened with one character and four men in under one year? And why?

Clearly, this character just doesn’t work and she certainly didn’t need a mother brought into the picture. This feels like General Hospital being unable to accept that Peter August (Wes Ramsey) will never work on the canvas.
