Melania Trump Labeled As Anti-American For Doing This
And it’s not because of some of the things that she’s said or even done. Instead, it’s because of the way she chooses to dress.
Just recently, Melania said that American fashion can lead the world. She made the comments at the Smithsonian about the power of American style.
However, a lot of her critics pointed out that while she was making these comments, she was dressed head to toe in European designs. Talk about hypocrisy, right? The First Lady was dressed in a Bottega Veneta coat and had on Christian Louboutin shoes.
But then again, this isn’t the first time that Melania has dressed in clothes that felt like a slap in the face to American designers. While Michelle Obama was someone who has always dressed in American labels, Melania has done the opposite.
Why Does Melania Trump Dress In European Labels?

Sure, she wore a powder blue Ralph Lauren coat to her husband Donald Trump’s first inauguration back in 2017.
That might have been the only time that she was willing to make an effort to be seen as someone who supports American labels as more often than not she likes to dress in Dolce and Gabbana, who happen to be her close personal friends.
With that said, if there’s anything that we’ve learned about the way that Melania Trump operates, it’s that she’s going to do what she wants to do, regardless of what anyone has to say about her.
Plus, Melania herself used to be a model. Style is part of her personality. If she doesn’t want to wear American designers because it doesn’t fit her aesthetic, then you better believe that she’s not going to do it – and no one is going to tell her otherwise, too.
So far Melania Trump herself has not made any comments about the matter, although at this point it’s doubtful that anything will be said. Watch this space for more.
