According to OK! Magazine, the actor, who plays Kevin Webster in Weatherfield, was treated in a local hospital after police officers were called to his home in Manchester. Police reports indicate that after being released from the hospital, he was put in a Manchester area jail. As of press time, the police have said that they will take no further action on the case.
Apparently, Michael was arrested after a 999 call (an emergency number similar to 911 in the United States) was made from his home, which he shares with his partner Louise Gibbons. Police arrested him on suspicion of assault but officers have since classed it as a domestic incident. Michael has admitted in the past that he has battled with alcohol addiction.
