Coronation Street Spoilers – Relationships Aren’t Easy
Curtis (Sam Retford) is currently not in his best self as he struggles to cope with his unknown heart condition, which means he could live a longer life but could also mean he could die any moment.
Emma (Alexandra Mardell) who is sympathetic with her lover, is putting up a brave front to show her support until Curtis’ latest collapse in the Bistro last week. Monday’s episode (September 6) saw Emma losing patience after Curtis failed to meet up for an arranged date. Her worries intensified, believing that something might have happened to her boyfriend again as he previously refused to stay in the hospital when the doctors suggested doing more tests on him.
The worried barmaid confided with father Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) to search for Curtis only to get disappointed upon seeing the man drowning his sorrows in alcohol in the morning.
“You’ve been missing all morning. What is wrong with you?” Emma vented.
But an agitated Curtis retorted: “That’s the thing Emma, isn’t it? No one knows.”
Fans saw Emma giving up and said: “I don’t think I can do this anymore.”
Fortunately, it wasn’t the end of their fairytale yet as an apologetic Curtis talked it through with Emma. However, actress Alexandra Mardell has revealed that things will get complicated for the two from then on.
Coronation Street Spoilers — Never Lucky In Love
Emma has been pretty unlucky with love, first falling for David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd), next to Chesney Brown (Sam Aston), and with the late Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) which ended so complicated because of his ex, Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu) who is now Emma’s best friend.
Speaking to The Sun later last year, Corrie boss Iain MacLeod revealed Emma is going to get her prince charming “but it’s going to be a very interesting version of her wish.”
Little did Emma know her prince charming comes with a unique illness that demands her to compromise her needs. In an exclusive interview with Inside Soap, the soap star revealed that despite Emma and Curtis’ relationship appearing as a fairytale, things will not turn easy for them.
“Curtis is Emma’s Prince Charming, so she’s made the decision to keep going in the hope that love will conquer all,” she said.
Coronation Street Spoilers – Don’t call Emma Selfish
However, Emma wants a man who can look after her, but now that she’s seen the intensity of his incurable disease, Emma will always be caring for him and Alexandra pointed out it’s just too much for her character to cope with.
“It’s fair to say that Emma’s not necessarily been lucky in love this time round either. This situation is going to get really, really complicated for both her and Curtis,” she hinted.
How will the two move forward with Emma faking the show? Will she be able to handle the situation well? Or will she leave Curtis in the process?
