Coronation Street Spoilers – Working To Hard And To Much

The Corrie star joined the cast of ITV soap for over three decades but often struggled with mental health issues. However, she didn’t know the cause of her breakdown at first and only realized it when she was overworking herself.

As documented by Daily Star, Callard said, “I’d struggled for so long knowing something was wrong but not on set knowing exactly what it was.”

She expressed her thoughts on how clinical depression affects people who are perfectionists and demand too much of themselves and branded clinical depression as the “curse of the strong.”

She explained it does not happen to weak people who are quitters, but to those who are strong and are people-pleasers.

During her interview on Melanie Blake’s series “Girl Talk,” the actress stated she had to go to work virtually every scene every day because the McDonalds were involved in a storyline but somebody approached her she can’t be on the 50th Anniversary of the soap because of her clinical depression and she might be “flaky and unreliable.”

She also felt that if she were a man, she would have been treated differently amidst her mental breakdown issues.

She also shared that she’s not happy being with herself anymore and called it her “demons” and that she already hates to look at herself in the mirror and on her old photographs.

Callard admitted that she already informed her husband Jon McEwan and one of her children regarding her facelift plans, but they both disagreed with the idea.

However, the star is willing to do it despite her family’s disapproval declaring: “But I am going to do it, I am going to do it but I am doing it for me.”
