Bernie Winter’s problem with Fern Lindon (Gabrielle Glaister) will continue next week. Fans may recall that the latter recently framed her for stealing from a jewelry store. She tried to tell the police that she was innocent and that the person they were looking for was Fern. But the latter is nowhere to be found, which means Bernie is left alone to face the consequence of a crime she didn’t commit.

Bernie is set to face the court for her plea hearing. She comes up with a plan to lure Fern out, but she needs the help of Fern’s ex-husband, Howard Lindon (Gordon Peaston). Coronation Street bosses teased that Bernie is playing a dangerous game, and fans will know next week what that means.

“She knows that Fern is a ruthless woman who is also trying to stay out of jail, and Bernie is worried that she has bitten off more than she can chew,” the actress said.

“She knows nothing about this woman, other than she is a con artist and a criminal who has probably pulled similar stunts before. She knows she could have some very dodgy contacts who could be very dangerous,” she continued.

The actress also teased that her character’s storyline will soon come to an end. Hazlegrove played a part in developing the storyline. She once told a Corrie writer that she’s often mistaken for Glaister because they are somewhat alike. This has been going on for 30 years, and a lot of people have been claiming to see her in shows that she’s never been in.

The actress admitted that she had fun with her character’s storyline, and she’s a bit sad that it’ll soon come to an end.
