Coronation Street: Max Remains Loyal To Griff Despite Botched Bombing Plan

Coronation Street spoilers, news, and updates tease that Max Turner (Paddy Beaver) continues to agree with Griff Reynolds’s (Michael Condron) beliefs even after the botched bombing of the street. When will he realize that Griff is nothing but trouble? How will David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) react?

Max was recently brought in for questioning by police following his association with Griff and his extremist gang during the episode that aired last Sunday.

Max found himself in an incredibly difficult situation when he discovered that the leader of their gang was plotting to bomb his neighbors’ street. However, Max bravely chose to do what was right and alerted his community of Griff’s sinister intentions.

After a period of tumultuous behavior, he had an unexpected change of heart and showed genuine remorse for his actions. He was willing to take responsibility for the consequences by working with authorities and making amends to those affected. He even said the right things to his family in hopes of restoring their good relationship.

Later, Max’s girlfriend, Lauren Bolton (Shannon Flynn), arrived with a secret companion in tow, Griff. Gail and David agreed to let her have a private discussion with Lauren.

Griff was quick to shower Max with compliments and undying support, emphasizing his intelligence and ability to lead the movement. Despite being at odds on one issue–the bomb–Max remained steadfast in solidarity for whatever else Griff believed in.

But someone told David that Griff was in the house, so he immediately called the police to have him arrested. Later on, Max admitted to David while they were having tea that he still agrees with Griff’s racist views. He tried to talk some sense into him but to no avail.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Corrie Exec Hints Max’s Redemption

Coronation Street Producer Iain MacLeod said Max would be redeemed in the coming months.

“The story will reach its climax in the first couple of months of the year. By the start of 2023, Max has become even more estranged from his family than he has been. This leads him into extremely dangerous territory, it’s fair to say,” MacLeod said.

He teased that Max would realize the mistakes he has made. He will try to get back to how he used to, but the effects of his actions will linger for a very long time.
