Coronation Street actress Mollie Gallagher has revealed more about Nina’s reaction when she learns about Roy Cropper’s plan to turn his back from Weatherfield for good, and it’s not looking good.
Nina (Mollie Gallagher) is set to see her uncle Roy (David Neilson) acting weird next scenes as his guilt gets the best of him. Roy hasn’t come to terms with Natasha’s (Rachel Leskovac) death when the police discover the gun used to kill Natasha was of Tez’s (Stephen Lord) — the same gun that Abi (Sally Carman) used in her showdown against killer Corey (Maximus Evans).
Roy previously lied to the police about Abi’s encounter with Corey, but when he learns about Natasha’s sad fate, he feels responsible for her death and wants to take a U-turn. The cafe owner encourages Abi to tell the truth to the police, but she’s unwilling, so the old man plans to leave the cobbles for good to atone for his sin.
Coronation Street Spoilers: Nina Blames Herself
Nina, who’s oblivious to what’s going on, will overthink things and end up blaming herself. Speaking to Digital Spy, the actress shared Nina is convinced she’s the problem.
“She blames herself for everything that has happened again because she feels like she is always linked to the bad things that are happening on the street in some way,” she shared.
Mollie disclosed that when Nina connects the link about the gun, she’ll also feel responsible for Natasha’s death: “She can also see that Roy is distraught about what happened with Natasha and so Nina starts to see herself as this curse and blames herself for everything that is going wrong.”
Roy will hurry things up by signing over the flat to Nina and selling his car to the garage, all of which will give Nina the wrong idea that Roy might end his life, and so “she’s distraught.”
Coronation Street Fans React To Roy’s Exit Plans, Threaten To Start A Petition
Just like Nina, Corrie fans aren’t delighted with Roy’s upcoming storyline, which will see him prepare to leave the soap after playing as Nina’s uncle for 26 long years.
Corrie’s official Twitter account shared a sneak peek photo of troubled Roy with the caption: “Next Week: Roy has a big decision to make, but will he leave the place that he has called home for so long?”

Fans flooded the comment section, saying the same thing: Roy must not leave the ITV soap, or it won’t be the same anymore. A fan even threatened to start a petition and march on Manchester if the writers are thinking of axing the veteran from the series.
“Roy is the best thing about the street! He is honest, decent, kind, and the voice of reason and wisdom. If he’s thinking of leaving in real life, do not let him go!” the fan commented.
“Corrie wouldn’t be the same without Roy and his wisdom. The cafe wouldn’t be the cafe without Roy’s comforting words. The street wouldn’t be the street without the troublemakers refining themselves and going to live with Roy,” another fan said.
Will Roy really leave the street? Or will Nina be able to stop him?
