Coronation Street Mollie Gallagher Reveals Nina Might Sympathize With Kelly

“Coronation Street star Mollie Gallagher has spoken about Nina Lucas’ resentment towards bully Kelly Neelan and revealed it might change soon.

Mollie’s on-screen character Nina hasn’t yet fully moved on from her late boyfriend Seb Franklin’s (Harry Visinoni) death after that hate attack, which was instigated by troubled teen Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson).

Kelly was pinned down as Seb’s murderer, despite Nina’s testimony at the court trial that it was evil Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) who kicked Seb to death while Kelly tried to stop him. Now that Kelly is released from prison, Nina resents her, believing she’s going to move on with her life after all that has happened. However, actress Mollie Gallagher hinted it might not be the case forever.

Speaking to TV Times, the actress revealed Nina might change how she sees things when she learns about Kelly’s struggles with being homeless. Kelly will live rough on the streets and spoilers revealed she might fall victim to a sexual assault when a lecherous man offers her to knock on his bedroom door at the hotel if she needs any help.

“Further down the line, when she finds out what is happening with Kelly, she will realize, ‘I don’t want to keep doing this’,” Mollie revealed.

Focusing on Nina’s development after Kelly’s freedom from prison and Corey’s potential life sentence could be as low as 14 years, Mollie said the grieving goth will go through “bad times, darker times.”

Just like with Millie Gibson, Gallagher mentioned she wants her character to be “happy” but she’s aware her happy ending isn’t soon to come as she still has to decide on forgiving Kelly, who has tried to make amends with her.

“They are never going to be best friends, but it will get to a point where she has to approach things differently,” she said.

The thugs further their tormenting and pours beer over Kelly’s head, which unexpectedly leads Nina to intervene. Will this be the start of their reconciliation?
