Coronation Street: Rachel Leskovac On Her Exit Scenes

Coronation Street: Rachel LeskovacCoronation Street’ star Rachel Leskovac has spoken about her heartbreaking exit scenes as Natasha Blakeman and revealed it was very emotional that she cried nonstop just by looking at her on-screen son, Sam.

As part of Corrie’s Super Soap Week, drug lord Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) shot Natasha in a case of mistaken identity. It was all because she was dressed in a black Morticia Addams costume similar to Harvey’s target, Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) at their Halloween party.

Harvey nudged the lifeless body, feeling accomplished that he’s killed the person who put him behind bars. However, it was then revealed that it was poor Natasha who’s fighting for her life when she was brought to the hospital for emergency surgery. Although she survived the first operation, she didn’t make it to her next due to severe internal bleeding.

In her interview with the media, Rachel narrated that she just started crying the moment she saw her on-screen son, Sam (Jude Riordan). It’s because it was her last scene filming with the child that she didn’t stop crying until the director said “cut”.

“It was really emotional, to the point I couldn’t look at him in between takes because I just found it too difficult. It was pretty much non-stop crying. I’m a very emotional person–or some might say a right softie!” Rachel told Digital Spy.

Following her exit, the actress is seeing things in a positive way, saying it’s part of the joy of being an actor is the prospect of new work to have new beginnings, and new environments to challenge her creativity.
