Coronation Street Reveals Roy Cropper’s Not Gone Forever

Coronation Street fans will be delighted to know that the staple of UK TV soaps, David Neilson is set to make a dramatic return on the cobbles this holiday season.

Fan-favorite David Neilson was last seen on Weatherfield a few weeks ago when his long-time character Roy Cropper hopped in the taxi to go abroad after the shocking discovery of Natasha Blakeman’s (Rachel Leskovac) unfortunate death.

When Roy learned that Abi’s (Sally Carman) gun which she used to threaten the villain Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) was the same gun that the drug lord Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) shot at Natasha in a mistaken identity. Roy previously covered up Abi’s mistakes to the police but with the discovery, he felt like he’s also responsible for Natasha’s demise.

Coronation Street News – His Untimely Exit

Previously, actor David Neilson has hinted his untimely exit might be permanent when he spoke to Inside Soap. “There are two exits in this for me: one for the character and one for David. Hopefully they won’t coincide – maybe they will.

“I know Roy leaving will get a reaction. It’s a big part of your life and a big part of that popular culture. He will be remembered for a long while,” he said.

Although the actor has appeared on British television for a long time already, David still finds it amazing when people recognize him. He shared one experience when he picked up his son at the university: “… realizing that I’d been in the lives of everybody there in their 30s. It’s a very strange thing!”

Coronation Street Spoilers – Roy Cropper Returns For A Dramatic Plot For Christmas

However, fans don’t need to fret as the legendary cafe owner is set to make a dramatic comeback this yuletide season as he’ll get involved in a dramatic plot.

The Sun reported that a TV Insider confirmed Roy is not going anywhere: “David took a couple of weeks off but will be on screen again in a few weeks. Viewers are going to get quite a shock and he’s set to be part of a dramatic storyline.”

A Corrie viewer expressed his joy upon learning about Roy’s return: “I’m glad Roy Cropper is returning soon to @itvcorrie, the cafe isn’t the same without him! #Corrie #RoyCropper”

Roy turned his back to Weatherfield believing it’s the only way to attain his peace and atone for his sins as Abi Franklin rejected his plea to come clean to the police. But what will change Roy’s mind? Will Abi surrender herself to the authorities?
