Still grieving with the heartbreaking scenes during Super Soap Week, the young Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) still hasn’t uttered a single word after the soap’s villain Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) killed his mom, Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac).
Last Friday’s episode (November 19), Sam’s face lit up to stargaze. However, he lost interest the moment he knew that Max Turner (Paddy Bever) and Lily Platt (Brooke Malonie) would join him with the astronomical activity.
As Lily acted naughty during the scene, she locked Sam outside of the balcony. The young girl was eating a lollipop but suddenly she pulled the stick out leaving the candy stuck in her throat. Sam was staring at Lily when the latter turned blue and lost her breath as the candy was choking her.
‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers – Roy Copper And George Shuttleworth Were Warned
Despite the incident, Sam still could not say a word but Roy Cropper (David Neilson) and George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) were warned by what happened when the telescope crashed down to the ground.
The two immediately ran to the apartment and helped Lily to spit the candy. Disturbed by Sam’s reaction, George explained to Roy what the young boy has been going through since Natasha’s death.
Later that day, when they knew about the unfortunate circumstance, Nick (Ben Price) and Leanne (Jane Danson) were shocked about young Sam’s quietness amidst Lily’s near-death experience.
Earlier this month, Ben Price, who plays Nick Tilsley on the soap shared how great was his on-screen son, Jude Riordan in portraying his role as Sam Blakeman.
“He’s brilliant. I said to him, ‘Look, you are keeping me in the job.’ He is fantastic and what is great is that he has his own mind and he knows what he wants to do,” Price told Digital Spy.
“I am only interested in approaching working with him as an actor and equal. When we go to do the scenes, we don’t over-talk it. He is very natural and instinctive,” he added.
‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers – Sam Blakeman Overcomes Mutism
In the upcoming episodes of “Coronation Street”, Sam Blakeman will give his first giggles after a long time of silence following Natasha’s death.
When Nick and Leanne arrive home after taking Sam to the psychologist, George Shuttleworth appears on the scene as he was requested to accompany the young boy to do some stargazing.
Immersed in the activity, Sam giggles for the first time. Though he’s happy hearing Sam’s voice once more, Nick wishes that he’s the one making his son laugh.
Will this be the start for Sam to finally talk to the people around him?
