Nina (Mollie Gallagher) has been putting all her attention to Seb’s memorial garden which temporarily distracts her from the upcoming court trial involving Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) and Kelly Nellan (Millie Gibson) for Seb’s murder case.
Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) spearheaded a fundraising activity and even sold her laptop to donate the money to the memorial garden. But things turned bad when disgusted father Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) intently dropped the news to Nina.
Irritated Nina confronted Asha but the confrontation turned out as a confession when the latter admitted she’s still in love with her. However, Nina was quick to reject her by asking her to leave her alone and allow her to process her grief by making a memorial garden for her late boyfriend.
However, viewers were gutted to see a mysterious figure uprooting the plants in the garden and throwing the soil at Seb’s poster.
Coronation Street Spoilers – Asha Alahan Demands An Apology From Nina
When Nina and Roy (David Neilson) found the garden in ruins, she was quick to point her finger at Asha thinking that her ex could do such things out of spite after being rejected.
When Asha came shocked and asked who could be the culprit, Nina hinted it could be some folks or just folk. When Asha followed she’s referring to her, she defended herself asking why would she do that.
“Out of spite? Because I rejected you,” Nina insulted.
“How dare you. Is that what you think I’m like? Some mindless idiot that would trash something made to commemorate Seb.” Asha retorted.
Hurt by her accusations, Asha pointed out that Nina is out of order and that she owes her an apology.
Nina got emotional and apologized explaining she’s just confused and harrowed for what had happened.
In the ITV soap’s Friday installment (August 13), Abi revealed she was the mysterious culprit that vandalized Seb’s portrait and wrecked the garden.
Coronation Street Spoilers – Abi Franklin Decides To Keep The Garden
Abi, who was passing by, witnessed the exchange of Nina and Asha and stopped the two from fighting by dropping the shocking news that it was her who’s responsible.
“I saw Ryan taking a selfie the other day. I don’t want people coming here to gawp at him,” Abi justified.
Asha explained that Seb died of a heinous hate crime and that he deserves to be remembered, but Abi wasn’t amused with how Seb turned out to be a “poster boy” for a hate crime.
Nina explained the garden was to remember Seb as a beautiful human and to inspire people to be more tolerant.
But Abi is not convinced and told Nina before she left: “He’s gone Nina and I will not have you glamorizing his death. Because it’s not beautiful. It’s not inspiring. It’s plain ugly.”
But it looked like she was overcome by guilt just as Nina was about to take down the garden with the help of uncle Roy and Asha, Abi came with a plant in her hand announcing she decided to keep the garden as everybody in Weatherfield loves the idea.
Although now they’re at peace with the idea, Abi and Nina have to brace themselves as Seb’s court trial is fast approaching. Keep checking Celebrating The Soaps for more Coronation Street spoilers, news, and updates.
