In the previous week, Abi Webster (Sally Carman) was stunned when Kelly approached her in Seb’s memorial garden and confessed to being the sponsor of her legal charges. Kelly left shocked when Abi revealed that Imran paid Ben to lie in the court, saying that she purchased drugs for her to lose the custody battle. Later that day, Kelly encouraged Imran to investigate Ben’s story against Abi and convinced him that the latter didn’t buy drugs at all.
In the next episode, Abi gatecrashed her son’s naming day and claimed that she was willing to start fresh and build a loving relationship with Alfie. She requested to take a photo of her son for her to remember the special day. However, Imran looked concerned with her action as he believed that Abi has other motives. Meanwhile, the mother-of-one demanded her friend, Matty, to do something with the envelope she handed him, and she later received a call and confirmed that she was willing to wait a week for their fake passports.

In next week’s episode, convinced to lose the custody battle because of Imran’s lie in the court, Abi finds a way to keep her son. When she approaches Imran and Toyah to have Alfie for a whole day, the latter immediately agrees while Imran doubts the idea. Later in the week, Abi finally has the fake passports in hand and plans to fly to Costa Rica alongside Alfie.
As she’s busy plotting her escape plans, Kevin approaches her and confesses his love for her. Abi also expresses her feelings for her estranged husband and reveals her plans to escape cobbles together with her son. The bothered Kevin seeks comfort from her sister Debbie and unveils Abi’s secret. Debbie then gives her brother two choices – tell Imran the truth or support Abi with her plans.
