Bill, 87, had previously said he was aiming to be the first actor in a serial drama to hit 100 years of age. In 2018, Roache said he had been in Coronation Street for 58 years and that he is in the Guinness Book of Records. He also says he has an MBE for services to television. Roache went on to say he really appreciates the job and loves it very much and that he is really lucky.
As the new storyline begins, fans will see Ken moving into the living facility with Claudia. Here he will meet up with his old friend, Norris Cole and his wife Freda.
While Bill Roache wants to make history by being the first centenarian on a drama series, Coronation Street hits its 60th anniversary in December this year.
