The last time Todd was seen was all the way back in 2017. In his exit storyline, he went on the run from authorities. He had kidnapped Summer Spellman (Matilda Freeman), fearing Geraldine Spellman (formerly Lynne Verrall) would take the child away. As fans may recall, she made it clear how she felt about two gay men raising a child.

Eventually, Summer returned, but Todd did not. The young girl said that police tracked them down and Todd assaulted a law enforcement officer. As Todd ran into the woods, a police car pursued him, but he never did come back.

Real Reason Actor Left UK Soap

Coronation Street spoilers reveal that the real reason for Todd’s sudden exit is because the actor, Bruno Langley, was charged with two counts of sexual assault. The actor was sentenced to one year of community service, ordered to pay restitution, had to sign up for the sex offenders register, and was also given 40 days of rehabilitation activity. In addition, Langley had electronically monitored curfew for 12 weeks.

It is possible that the character could return, but Corrie would likely do a recast. It would be quite controversial for them to rehire Langley after he admitted to sexual assault. Plus, there are women and children on set and it would be too much of a liability to have someone with that kind of past walking among them.

      YES. It was one isolated incident, and like it says above it was a long time ago, and he got the help he needed, and everyone deserves a second chance. Is he really a danger to women? No.
      Saying he’s a danger to children is way OUT OF ORDER, he wouldn’t be allowed access to his own son if he was. A recast is OUT OF THE QUESTION, THERE IS ONLY ONE ACTOR TO PLAY TODD GRIMSHAW AND THAT IS THE ONE AND ONLY BRUNO LANGLEY
