For fans who are wondering why Laura decided to take the fall for Gary, it’s because she wants her daughter, Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson), to have a stable future. She believes Gary can provide her with that. Besides, Laura is terminally ill. She only has a short time left to live and she wants to make sure that her daughter will be fine once she’s gone.

Kel Allen said that Laura was shocked when Gary admitted what he’s done. He wanted to let her know that he never intended to kill Rick. They had a heated altercation in the woods and what he did to him was self-defense. She still can’t believe that Rick is dead. She’s now starting to realize that perhaps Gary took Kelly under his wing because he was guilty of what he’s done to her father.
