However, she ended up emotional when she found out that her twin brother is dying from Motor Neuron Disease (MND). When Paul learned about his condition, he was hesitant to walk Gemma down the aisle. Despite the physical discomfort, he did his best to grant his sister’s wish.
As they started to approach the altar, Paul began limping, and the further they got down the aisle, the more he walked differently. At the reception, Paul got to express his love for the newlywed despite his fear of public speaking. However, he shed so many tears when he talked about his life with Gemma being separated when they were kids. At the backstage, the bride caught her twin brother crying and she immediately demanded to tell her about his situation.
Though Paul tried to cover up the truth, Gemma was not buying it and continued to push him to speak up. It seemed like she was good at convincing people that Paul finally broke the truth. When he told her about his health crisis, Gemma could not believe her ears and she started to weep.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Gemma Winter Faces Multiple Life Struggles
In the upcoming scenes of “Coronation Street,” Gemma finally gives in to her real emotions when problems start to make her weak. After knowing about Paul’s condition, she tries to hide all her pain as much as she can. With the help of Bernie, she hosts a fundraising event to distract her from the disheartening reality. The two successfully secure £800 as they manage a chili-eating competition for Paul’s MND equipment.
Meanwhile, in the apartment, Chesney opens up to Joseph that he cannot join the summer club with his friends due to their shortage of money. The bad news saddens the young man, so Gemma looks for ways to cheer him up. As a result, she decides to ask for additional working hours at the pub to provide for Joseph’s summer activity.
Later in the week, when Chesney heads off to work, Gemma is left to watch over her children. When Rita visits her, the matriarch suddenly cries her heart out as she states her current life struggles. She also reveals her postnatal depression after giving birth to the quad. As she listens to the woman, Rita advises her to see a doctor to consult about the matter.
