While talking to Victoria, actor Jack James Ryan (Jacob Hay) revealed his own cancer battle, which fans were unaware of.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Determined To Beat Cancer

Victoria is determined to beat cancer for her young son. Doctors are confident that Victoria having a double mastectomy would be her best chance. The actress told OK! Magazine,

“My mum had breast cancer at 41, and her sister at 39 – so many people in my family, in fact. So I don’t really leave any time before I check these things. I was diagnosed on the thirteenth of October with DCIS, which is Ductal carcinoma in situ. It basically means that cells have turned cancerous within the milk ducts.”

The actress added,

“We’re being really optimistic, and positive, and really lucky that we’ve caught it as early as we have. I don’t know if lucky is the right word, but that’s how I feel.”

Coronation Street spoilers reveal that according to the Mirror, Jack had his own battle with cancer. In 2017, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. The 24-year-old actor shared his story with Victoria. This was previously unknown to most fans and even Victoria was unaware of it until Jack said something online.

Jack talked about his own battle when Victoria congratulated the actor on his second stint on the ITV soap. Jack thanked Victoria and said he is inspired by her opening up about her cancer journey. That is when Jack shared that he had his own cancer battle and victory a few years ago. Victoria said,

“Thanks JJ. I won’t lie, it’s one hell of a slog, but my family and friends, all the messages of support… feels like I have my own little army. I had no idea you battled the big C… what a warrior. And now you’re smashing it on our beloved @itvcorrie. Much love and respect x.”
