Earlier this month, the mother-of-two Fiz Stapes warned Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) about their child Hope and Ruby’s reaction in the future. Fiz emphasized Hope’s understanding will change once she realized this baby will divide her father’s attention.

And next week, viewers see Hope (Isabella Flanagan) causing big trouble in Weatherfield to get her father’s attention which endangers her father’s new partner Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu) and their upcoming child.
Next Monday on the ITV soap, Alina complains about stomach pains and Tyrone is quick to rush her to the hospital. Fortunately, Alina is discharged after the sonographer confirms the baby is unharmed.
The couple picks Hope on their way home to include her as they plan for the baby’s coming, but it won’t ease Hope’s feeling of abandonment.

At first, Hope’s excited and gives Alina a toy dinosaur as her present for the baby, but the child feels envious when the couple discusses their joy in knowing they are waiting for a baby boy.
Fiz picks Hope to take her home, unknown to the mother that Hope has stolen Alina’s keys.
Arriving in the flat, Hope tells her mom she hopes the baby will not be born as she doesn’t want to do anything with her new brother. Fiz feels shocked by Hope’s attitude and orders the child to go to bed.
But Hope tricks her mother by sneaking out of the back door to get her toy back from the flat.

Believing that Alina is out with Tyrone, Hope enters the salon flat without knowing Alina is sleeping in her room.
Earlier, she sent Tyrone off for a drink they planned with friends at the hotel because she’s tired.
Sleeping Alina is oblivious there’s a fire outside her bedroom door and she’s about to get suffocated because of the smoke.
Fortunately, Alina is rescued after Evelyn (Dame Maureen Lipman) called for help. But later the mom-to-be is overwhelmed with sadness after seeing how the fire burned everything they’d bought for their boy.
The fire officers inform Alina that the case is now investigated as arson after discovering that an accelerant was used to start the flames.
Trying to make sense of it all, Alina tells local policeman Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) she accuses Fiz after realizing her keys are missing.
Meanwhile, Fiz observes Hope is being unusual with the turn of events and confides with Tyrone that Hope might know something about the incident.
