Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) has found her way back into love with the toyboy Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost) despite her ex-husband Johnny’s (Richard Hawley) recent death. Johnny’s daughter Carla (Alison King) wants to keep her connection with her stepmother but when she’s put aside as Jenny prioritizes her romance, she protests.

The foul atmosphere starts on January 21’s episode when Carla goes to the Rovers Return hoping to share lunch with Jenny. But the Rover’s landlady explains she already committed to a date with Leo so they’ll have to catch up some other time. Seeing Jenny moving on from Johnny’s death with a younger man triggers hatred in Carla’s heart, who’s still left reeling for her father’s death, especially since he died to save Jenny into the Platt’s sinkhole. Will she jeopardize Jenny’s blooming romance?

Corrie boss Iain MacLeod previously teased that Jenny will listen to her heart despite everybody else’s prejudice.

“In the end, she’ll single-mindedly decide to pursue her own happiness. With this being soap, it probably won’t turn out to be that straightforward, but it brings a lot of fun to the pub,” MacLeod told Digital Spy.
