Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley) and Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) had a promising future together when they got married in 2017 until Johnny was jailed due to an historic armed robbery and Jenny ended up sleeping with their bed-and-breakfast guest at the Rovers, Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan). Their marriage fell apart after a series of lies coming from both parties, which saw them end their relationship earlier this year.

However, “Coronation Street” has revealed plans to revisit their romance tragically. Jenny diverts her attention to her new flame, newcomer Leo, who she tried to match with her stepdaughter, Daisy Midgley (Charlotte Jordan) but the latter was completely uninterested.
But when Johnny plans to leave Weatherfield and his ex-wife Jenny learns this, she’s shocked and wants to talk to him for the last time.
However, the intense rainstorm worries Jenny as Leo works as a toyboy at the Platt’s garden for the collapsed sinkhole and when she searches for him in the middle of the storm, the ground devours her.
Johnny learns Jenny is in danger and, without hesitation, he jumps to her rescue. Will he confess he still has feelings for her?
New ITV photo teasers show Johnny and Jenny struggling to keep up with the rising waters. Will they both survive? Or will this be the last to see them together?
Coronation Street Spoilers – Boss Reveals Jenny Connor And Johnny Connor Is The Center Of The Sinkhole Tragedy
Speaking to the media, show producer Iain MacLeod has confirmed Johnny and Jenny’s story was the “heart and soul” of the sinkhole storyline even when other intense scenes such as for Abi (Sally Carman) and evil Corey Brent (Maximus Evans), who will fight in a gun showdown underground will be seen in the terrifying week.
“What we get from Jenny and Johnny is that circumstances force them to face up to their feelings for each other and their past, as well as what they want from their future,” he told Digital Spy.
“It’s incredibly dramatic, but equally, it’s very funny. It’s very heartfelt, it’s incredibly moving and emotional,” he teased.
