Coronation Street Spoilers: Julia Goulding Addresses Rumors That She Had Lip Fillers

Following Coronation Street’s January 15 episode, when Shona Ramsey (Julia Goulding) woke up from her coma, fans were quick to assume that Goulding has had lip fillers. However, the actress denied the claims that said that she had a cold sore when she filmed her scenes.

She addressed the rumors in a tweet. “For those of you wondering about Shona’s (my) lips, I’ve NOT had lip fillers done or cosmetic enhancements, I did, however, have a giant cold sore when filming these scenes!” she tweeted.

Goulding Goes On Maternity Leave

Goulding’s character is scheduled to exit the sudser temporarily as she goes on maternity leave following the arrival of her firstborn son Franklin Wolf Silver last month. Shona’s exit will come as she gets transferred to a specialist rehabilitation hospital after regaining consciousness from her coma.

Fans saw the character get shot when Derek (Craig Els) went on a rampage during Christmas Day. David was later informed that Shona had been left with brain damage and that she may not fully recover from her injuries. While in a coma, the doctors tried to remove her breathing tubes to test if she could do it on her own, which she did.

Then, she woke up from her coma. However, she can’t remember anyone since she’s suffering from amnesia, which leaves her husband David (Jack P Shepherd) devastated. David will learn that his wife needs to be moved to a specialist unit in Leeds where her brain activity can be monitored properly and help her recover as well.

Shepherd’s Reaction To David and Shona’s Crisis

Shepherd explained that his character is really upset with what’s happening.

“He can’t understand how this can have happened when they only got married a few weeks ago. How can you forget that?” he said.

“The doctors start to say they’ve done all they can for Shona at this point and she needs more specialist help. David’s adamant he’ll be there every step of the way, he’s not giving up on her,” he added.

The date of her final scenes has not yet been revealed. Plus, ITV bosses have not confirmed details about her return. But she’s expected to return to the show since she mentioned before that she’s on leave for only four months.
