Coronation Street Spoilers: Kelly Turns Back To Drugs After Mom Tragedy

Coronation Street spoilers have hinted Kelly Neelan might relapse again after staying away from drugs to numb the pain of her mom Laura’s passing.

Kelly (Millie Gibson) will forever remember her late mother Laura (Kel Allen) as a murderer after the latter confessed to killing her husband Rick (Greg Wood) in a recent shocker.

What Kelly didn’t know is that her ill mother made a huge sacrifice to give her a happy family with the real culprit Gary (Mikey North) and his wife Maria (Samia Longchambon) which Laura and Rick failed to provide her with.

In upcoming episodes, Kelly struggles with her emotions as she tries to process her mom’s death especially since she didn’t see her in her last moment because she resented her.

The more her emotions run high when she receives some news that she’ll inherit Rick’s money and properties including their family home. How will her new guardians who are guilt-ridden support her in these trying times? Will Gary successfully continue with his heroic act? Or will he expose himself in the process?

‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers – An Unlikely Hero

Later, Kelly asks Gary to check on their neglected property as it’s too much for her to handle. A photo of his smiling victim overwhelms Gary with guilt but he manages to return to Kelly to deliver her a box of mementos.

But the box triggers Kelly’s childhood trauma to resurface as she sees the various reminders of her past and when she’s burdened with it all she rushes to the Victoria Garden.

While she’s alone and grieving, the troubled teen retrieves a bottle of her mom’s morphine and when she’s about to take it, Abi Webster (Sally Carman) arrives.

Will Abi who previously wished for Kelly’s destruction be able to set aside her anger to help Kelly?

Later in the week, the couple accompanies Kelly to Rick’s funeral but Gary gets paranoid that Rick’s associates might be lurking around.

When Kelly is about to say her goodbyes, a man rages at and spits on Rick’s coffin, wishing that Rick rots in hell. An angry Gary punches the mysterious man oblivious that a photographer is hiding behind the bushes. Is Gary’s secret about to get exposed soon?

Actress Kel Allen previously talked about why her character covered up for Gary, explaining that Laura’s greatest sacrifice is not for him but for Kelly’s future.

“She has had to make the person she loves the most hate her in order to help her,” she explained.

The actress hoped that viewers finally see the wayward mom’s redemption that for the first time she did something good for her daughter “even though it might hurt her too.”
