She confronts Mike about it, and the latter admits that he wishes to make Callum a part of his family. However, he can’t afford to tell Esther the truth. Because of that, Summer promised to tell Ava the truth.

Mike pretended that he was okay with the idea of Summer telling Esther everything. He told her that his wife was upstairs. But when she went up, Esther wasn’t there and realized that Mike set a trap for her. He locked the door behind the nursery, leaving her trapped inside without her insulin. She tried to beg Mike to let her out, but he didn’t listen. Instead, he drove off and left Summer alone without her phone and medication.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Harriet Bibby Reacts To Summer’s Current Storyline

In a previous interview, Harriet Bibby admitted that there were mixed reactions to her character’s storyline. Fans may recall Summer had a miscarriage but decided to continue deceiving Matt and Esther. She took the money that they offered in return for letting them adopt her baby.

The pair discovered her deception, and Summer tried to make amends by becoming a surrogate. The recent developments have earned a polarized response from the viewers.

“It’s been a bit of a mixed reception,” she said.

“Some people can see why Summer chose to pursue the surrogacy and that her intentions are good – and feel quite sorry for her. However, others are like ‘what is she doing?’ It’s a difficult one!” she continued.

The actress also admitted that, just like many viewers, she was also surprised by the recent actions of her character.
