He took over the identity of Colin Fishwick to get a teaching job. But his quiet life didn’t last long. The real Colin Fishwick died, and John hid his body. He even murdered Charlotte Hoyle (Becky Hindley) and Colin’s mother to keep his secret.

Fiz was accused of being responsible for all the murders, but John helped clear her name. He ended up kidnapping Rose again eventually but not after confessing the truth.
