Coronation Street Spoilers: Recasts Aadi Alahan Following Zennon Ditchett’s Exit

On “Coronation Street,” the role of Aadi Alahan has been recast following the departure of the actor who used to play the part, Zennon Ditchett. The latter played the character since 2009. He decided to leave the show so he can focus on his A-Level Studies.

Asha Alahan’s (Tanisha Gorey) twin brother, Aadi, will be taken over by Manchester actor Adam Hussain. The young actor is set to make his first appearance on Wednesday, April 15. The move to recast the role comes as Aadi takes on a crucial role in his twin sister’s new storyline, which will kick off later this month.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Hussain’s Other Acting Credits Include “The Bay,” “Fertile Crescent,” And “Ansentia.”

When asked about his new role, the actor said, “I am excited to play the role of Aadi, putting my own twist on him as the character becomes involved in an important new storyline. I was already good friends with Tanisha Gorey, before coming to the street, which helps hugely with portraying the bond of brother and sister.”

The actor shared that everyone on the show has been so welcoming and they treated him like he’s part of their family. He added that he’s always associated the soap with family and togetherness, which he believes is crucial during this time.

“Having already filmed the start of this story before we had to stop production I look forward to returning as part of the amazing team who bring entertainment and joy to the screens of viewers across the nation,” he continued.

Asha’s upcoming storyline involves scenes where Asha performs a striptease for her new boyfriend Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) while on a video call. However, she’ll soon find out the grim consequences of sexting as her nude photos are leaked by Corey and it spreads like wildfire around their school.

Aadi tries to protect his sister. However, he can’t really do anything to stop the damage to his sister’s reputation. Plus, he’ll try to be there for his twin as she faces the consequences of her actions.

The show is consulting with NSPCC’s Alana Ryan over Asha’s next major storyline.

“When working with the team at Coronation Street, we really wanted to ensure young viewers understood that taking and sharing photos without permission is never acceptable,” Ryan said.
