Roy (David Neilson) spirals down after covering up Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) for pointing a gun at killer Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) during the Super Soap Week. If not for Roy, who talked sense into Abi, the grieving mom would’ve shot the young man.
However, Roy receives more questioning from the police and it takes away his peace knowing that his action saved Corey but also took away the innocent life of Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac).
The police discover the gun used by drug lord Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) to kill Natasha is linked to Tez Wyatt (Stephen Lord), Abi Franklin’s ex.
Coronation Street spoilers tease Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) shares the news that the police are tracing the gun that Harvey used with the café owner and Roy is able to put the pieces together that it was Abi’s gun that Harvey used. Abi calls Roy about the development and the old man encourages Abi to come to light, but she’s not willing.
DS Abney (Fiona Skinner) questions Roy about that night and, yet again, he lies. The soap stalwart confides with his niece Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) about the discovery and admits he feels he’s responsible for Natasha’s death. Will Nina be able to help her uncle?
‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers – Roy Copper Prepares To Leave
Troubled Roy is consumed by guilt and decides to go abroad to start fresh. To prepare for his departure, he asks lawyer Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo) to help him with the document process of naming his flat and business to his niece, Nina. He also sells his car at the garage and hopes to find a buyer sooner.
Nina is puzzled about Roy’s actions, but her uncle makes it clear once and for all that he’s ready to leave the cobbles and reveals he’s exchanging Weatherfield for a job as a chef in South America. But could Roy be lying on that part, too?
Coronation Street Star David Neilson – “Why Am I Still Here?”
The soap stalwart has previously spoken about his future in the long-running ITV soap after being a permanent character for 26 years.
Speaking to Express.co.uk earlier this year, David expressed his stay has been extraordinary as the time has flown and been able to work with extraordinary people.
“Many of whom have gone on to other things. Why am I still here? I mean, I’m 72 – so, probably a lot of it is luck!” he claimed.
The actor wasn’t explicit about his decision of whether he’ll still be seen on the cobbles, but he teased: “I don’t know, I enjoy it. I enjoy grappling with it, people say ‘You’re playing the same thing,’ but it’s not the same thing at all.” Keep checking back here for more coronation street spoilers, news, and updates.
