Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) has a hard time babysitting Bertie, so Summer has to wait for him before they can start working on her Oxford interview preparation.
When Daniel shares his babysitting struggles with Summer, the schoolgirl suggests Max (Paddy Bever) has his coaching in Daniel’s flat so he can look after Bertie at the same time.
Daniel is delighted with her idea and tells her to stay while he takes Adam’s call (Sam Robertson) who quizzes him about his feelings towards someone. When Summer mishears, she blushes, thinking Daniel is referring to her.
Summer’s assumption grows when she sights two tickets for “The Importance of Being Earnest” on teacher Daniel’s desk, believing one is for her. When Daniel sees her in the corridor, he asks if she’s free in the evening. Will Summer embarrass herself by thinking he’s asking her out on a date?

Coronation Street Spoilers – Star Rob Mallard Teased Daniel Osbourne’s Future With Daisy Midegely
Daniel Osbourne’s portrayer, Rob Mallard, has previously confirmed a future for his character and Daisy Midgeley. Although Daisy is not Daniel’s type, as evident in his previous experiences with women, Rob teased Daniel is interested in Daisy.
“She’s different, she’s not like the women who’ve come into his life in the past but she also scares him a bit. He can tell that she’s calculated but then he’s attracted to that danger, we’re all attracted to a bid of danger,” Rob told Digital Spy.
But despite their differences, the star hinted they might work it out: “Often those partnerships you think won’t work turn out to be the best ones.”
Rob explained that it’s because Daniel has been very dutiful over the last few years being a single dad to his son Bertie. Daisy certainly brings a bit of fun and excitement to his life.
If things turn out as actor Rob hinted, it would delight some Corrie fans to know there’s a huge possibility for their “cute” couple, Summer and Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) to work things out between them. But first, how will Summer handle her heartbreak with Daniel?
