Coronation Street Spoilers: Todd Blackmails David And Shona After Hit-And-Run Secret

Coronation Street spoilers and updates reveal that Todd Grimshaw is not stepping down as the anti-hero in the long-running soap as he planned to manipulate couple David and Shona Platt in their hit-and-run cover-up.

Todd (Gareth Pierce) was recuperating in the hospital after neighbor Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) accidentally knocked him down while driving David’s (Jack P Shepherd) car to park it. Corrie viewers knew the two were feuding over the parking space when Todd dumped his salon hearse outside number 8.

Shona rushed home panicky and tells David she might have hit someone but didn’t check who it was because of fear. David went with her to the scene, but they found no evidence of the suspected crime and so the couple shrugged their worries off with David bringing the car to Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) to have the dents fixed.

Hours later, Sarah (Tina O’Brien) dropped the news that Todd had been left fighting for his life after falling victim to a hit-and-run. Abi had also pieced it all together, revealing that she knew it was them who ran Todd down.

Shona begged Abi not to tell the police, as they are already investigating it on their own. Abi agreed on keeping their secret for the time being while the couple resorted to checking Todd to see how far he can remember about the accident.

At first, it looked like their plans were going well when Todd acted he can’t remember the details. However, it was revealed soon that Todd had already outwitted the couple. How are they going to face Todd’s revenge?

David visited Todd, telling him he had his appointment at the same hospital to show fake concern.

But it was soon revealed that the joke was on David when Todd admitted he clearly remembered everything: “Knew it was your car and I sort of guessed from the fact that she’s not here and you’re sniffing round. She couldn’t handle seeing what she’d done.”

David was gutted to realized he was cornered and was confused why Todd did not tell the police about Shona.

“Apart from getting her locked-up, what’s in it for me…?” Todd teased

Actor Gareth Pierce has previously confirmed that viewers will not see a sweet and light-hearted Todd even after his comeuppance in his interview with the media.

“I don’t think we’re going to see Todd’s moral compass completely reset. I think he’s always going to be a bit of a player and a bit of a someone who’s able to get what he wants out of a situation,” he revealed.
