Coronation Street Spoilers: Traitor Sharon Bentley Takes Over Harvey’s Drug Empire

Coronation Street spoilers reveal Sharon Bentley is up for another major scheme after betraying drug dealer nephew Harvey Gaskell to court.

In last week’s episode, Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) was confused to see Sharon (Tracie Bennett) warned her about a shooting plan for Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and son Sam (Jude Riordan). Unfortunately, Harvey’s minion saw her and punished her with beatings.

Later Sharon begged stepmom Rita (Barbara Knox) for £10,000 to start a new life somewhere as she’s on the run from the police. But Rita betrayed her by secretly calling the police to hand Sharon to them.

Sharon was set to face charges for taking part in Harvey’s drug empire, but this villain really knew how to turn the tables. She took a U-turn and testified against Harvey for damnation at the prison in exchange for her freedom on Wednesday’s episode.

Coronation Street Spoilers — Hail To The New Ruler

The villain’s change of heart was all an act when she’s seen talking to one of Harvey’s thugs. After all, her testimony at the court was never an act of remorse but of talking advantage to Harvey’s falling empire.

Confident that her nephew will be locked up for the next ten years, Sharon answers the minion, who was worried they won’t have a leader to rule over them. Sharon reveals he’s already looking and talking to their new boss. She orders him to spread the news to Harvey’s people.

But the man questions her of her ability to finance the business. On top of her vile nature, Sharon disclosed she’s convinced her foster mother Rita to provide £10,000. She assures the man that they will be back to business sooner.

But Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews), who never welcomed Sharon with open arms when she returned to Cobbles, warns Rita not to trust the wild child ever again.

When being asked by Corrie Blog Press why the actress Bennett wanted to revisit her character as Sharon after 22 years away, she revealed it was because of the major storyline.

“I was told, it was dark and I wondered. You are interested in the flaws of a human being, under pressure, family related, guilt and duty – my acting chops needed to come back! They wanted to give me a good storyline, a big story, and that’s what I wanted,” she explained.
