Coronation Street spoilers and updates for the week of December 1 reveal Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) makes an announcement, while Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) makes a big decision. Also, nosy Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) is suspicious, and Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) ends her relationship.
Debbie’s Announcement
Debbie feels anxious before her Women in Business speech, and Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) comforts her by saying it’s perfectly okay to refer to her notes.
As the event begins, he mentions that he requires her login information to pay the staff. She tells him to search for her notebook while she prepares to take the stage for her important presentation.
In her flustered state, she forgets the password for her iPad and is unable to check her notes. Instead, she chooses to deliver a sincere speech about her dementia diagnosis, discussing its implications for her future and her determination to keep fighting.
Theo Tells Todd To Keep A Low Profile
Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) advises Todd to keep a low profile since his injuries might lead others to misunderstand the situation. Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) feels puzzled when he cancels their plans, and Theo goes along with his story that he has traveled to London.
Todd is growing restless in the apartment and looks out the window, quickly ducking down as Summer catches sight of him.
She informs Theo that they might be experiencing a burglary, and he becomes worried when Gary Windass (Mikey North) and Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) insist on accompanying him to investigate.
Dev Also Has Been Informed
Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishan) has also been informed and stops by to check if everything is alright. Todd steps out of the shower and makes an excuse, claiming he just returned from the city and injured himself during a drunken afternoon.
Later, Theo gives Todd a fitness tracker and encourages him to continue his training by setting a goal of running 10 kilometers.
Todd shows no enthusiasm for the suggestion, and his spirits drop. As a weary Todd trudges back up the cobblestones, Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) invites him in for a cup of tea; will he confide in her about his struggles?
Todd Decides To Leave Theo
The following day, as Theo presents Todd with the exercise bike he has purchased for him, both Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) and Summer observe the cut on his face. They quickly express their skepticism regarding his explanation that he sustained the injury while in London.
When Danielle shows up to inform everyone that she plans to take the kids to Tenerife for the Christmas holiday, Theo directs his frustration towards Todd, holding him responsible for her choice.
Reaching his breaking point, Todd declares that he is going to leave – prompting an enraged Theo to start slapping himself in the face.
Nosy Shona Is Suspicious
It’s an incredibly hectic day at the café, and Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) can’t help but observe that her uncle, Roy Cropper (David Neilson), is starting to feel quite flustered.
She confides in Shona that he received a rather unsettling letter that very morning, which appeared to disturb him greatly.
Eager to uncover the truth, Shona begins to sift through his mail in an attempt to discover the identity of the person to whom Roy has been sending letters. However, one must wonder how he will respond once he finds out what she has done.
Lisa Updates Becky About Costello
Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) is determined to persuade Carla Connor (Alison King) that, regardless of her beliefs, she is the one who truly desires to be with her. However, later that same day, she has a meeting with Becky Swain (Amy Cudden) to share some significant news.
They may have identified the individual responsible for attacking DI Costello (Daon Broni), known as Soap. Becky expresses her disbelief, claiming she has never heard of him, but later encounters Soap to retrieve both Costello’s burner phone and his personal device.
As they meet, the sound of police sirens begins to echo in the background-the following day, Lisa updates Becky with the news that Costello is being taken out of his coma.
Becky Tries To Kill Costello
In a fit of rage, Becky rushes over, armed with a syringe, intent on ending his life before he has the chance to regain consciousness; yet, Lisa is quickly closing in on her.
Meanwhile, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) informs Carla that he is aware of Becky’s involvement in the attack on Costello, but without any solid evidence, he finds himself unable to take further action.
While Costello remains in a precarious state, Becky sits beside his hospital bed, engaging in conversation with his daughter.
All the while Becky is mentally noting down his iPad password. But when Kit manages to track down Costello’s phone, could this be the end of her game?
Will Driscoll Is Furious Over Daniel Osbourne Stealing His Girlfriend
Elsewhere, Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) is feeling upset with Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard). Will is overjoyed to learn that Megan (Beth Nixon) has submitted her application for a position at Weathy High, and he’s not the only one beaming.
When she tells Daniel about receiving an email confirming her interview, he playfully asks her out.
She agrees to his invitation, which infuriates Will; Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall) then inquires with his new friend about his life in Hull and if he has a girlfriend.
Will takes offense to this line of questioning, prompting Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) to step in when she notices the boys in a heated exchange.
Dee-Dee Ends Her Relationship And Gets Ready To Leave Town
Next week marks the beginning of Dee-Dee’s departure storyline as she turns down Ollie Driscoll (Raphael Akuwudike) regarding their Christmas arrangements.
This rejection deeply saddens him, and it becomes even more heartbreaking when she ultimately decides to end their relationship. In an effort to help, Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn) steps in, offering to discuss the matter with Dee-Dee.
Meanwhile, Dee-Dee also shares some significant news with Alya Alahan (Tanisha Gorey). The big question remains: Will Dee-Dee decide to leave before Christmas arrives?
