Coronation Street Spoilers Week Of January 12: Betsy’s Prison Visit, David And Shona’s New Houseguest, Carl Convinces Debbie She’s To Blame For Billy’s DeathCoronation Street spoilers and updates for the week of January 12 tease Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) pays a prison visit while David and Shona Platt (Jack P. Shepherd, Julia Goulding) have a new houseguest.

Plus, devious Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) convinces Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) she’s responsible for Billy Mayhew’s (Daniel Brocklebank) death!

Betsy’s Prison Visit

Becky Swain’s (Amy Cudden) reign of terror might finally be coming to an end when her furious daughter Betsy pays her a visit in prison.

Betsy is outraged to learn that Becky plans to drag Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) down with her, prompting her to confront her wicked mother behind bars.

She expresses her anger candidly, leaving no room for ambiguity about her feelings; this infuriates Becky, but will she act on her threat?

The following day, Carla Connor (Alison King) checks in on Betsy, who pleads with her to return to No. 6. Can she truly move past the fact that Lisa appeared to be rekindling her relationship with her ex-wife while she was away?

David And Shona’s New Houseguest

Meanwhile, newcomer Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances Brown) settles in comfortably at the Platt household. After spending the week observing David and Shona from a distance, she surprises the couple by disclosing that she was involved in the same accident as they were.

Although she has been released from the hospital, Jodie starts to experience a panic attack, prompting David to worry about her lack of accommodation.

He takes her back to No. 8, where he introduces her to Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) and Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner), who immediately takes a liking to her. It quickly becomes apparent that Jodie is making herself at home.

Baby Harper Suffers A Setback

Upon David and Shona’s return from visiting their newborn daughter Harper Platt (uncredited baby), they discover that Jodie has had a confrontation with Nick Tilsey (Ben Price).

During this incident, they notice that her wrist is bruised, but Jodie hesitates to provide details, claiming she was fleeing an abusive relationship.

Is she being honest, or is there more to her history with Emmerdale’s Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) than what is visible?

The following day, as David and Shona watch over Harper, an alarm goes off, and they find out she requires an urgent blood transfusion.  Spoilers suggest that Jodie is related to Shona—will the young girl be alright?

Carl Convinces Debbie She’s Responsible For Billy’s Death

Carl has been secretly saving money in his own account for months; he shares everything with Debbie, who later confronts her brother about his wrongdoings. Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) fears that his wife will disregard her lawyer’s advice to plead not guilty for the accident, and he is scared of losing her so soon after their marriage.

Unbeknownst to him, Carl is whispering lies to Debbie, trying to persuade her to admit to everything. She is hesitant to heed her husband, her other brother Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell), and Bernie Winter Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove), firmly believing that her actions led to Billy’s death.

The following day, Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) seeks someone to blame and accuses her, angry to see her laughing with Ronnie.

Megan Walsh Worries About Who’s The Daddy

Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) is worried she might be pregnant with Will Driscoll’s (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) child.

This week is full of drama for Megan, as Will’s jealousy over her relationship with Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) grows stronger.

He has to hide his anger when he sees the new couple entering No. 1 with a birthday cake and gifts for Bertie Osbourne (Rufus Morgan-Smith).

Later, Will can’t hold back and confronts Megan as she leaves the corner shop, concealing something in her bag. He asks if Megan spent the night at Daniel’s flat, and she struggles to respond.

Alya Spies A Pregnancy Test In Megan’s Bag

At Bertie’s party, Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) searches for candles in her bag and unexpectedly finds a pregnancy test! But is the possible baby Will’s or Daniel’s?

The following day, Daniel is enraged to discover that someone has vandalized Ken Barlow’s (William Roache) car, spray painting an offensive symbol on it.

Megan instantly realizes who did it and scolds Will for his childish behavior; with so much on her mind, she goes to Victoria Gardens to have some time alone.

Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) and Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) find her in tears, but will she share her troubles with them?

Todd And Summer Struggle With His Grief Over Billy, While Theo’s Awash With Guilt

Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) is overwhelmed with guilt after causing Billy’s death and has reluctantly allowed Summer to stay at the flat above the corner shop.

Viewers who saw the Corriedale crossover will remember that Billy was stuck by his seatbelt as the minibus began to catch fire-Theo had re-fastened his seatbelt after he had managed to unbuckle it!

When Summer comes home with a picture of her late father figure, suggesting they display it at his funeral, Theo has to force a sympathetic smile.

Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) is unsure how to start Billy’s eulogy, and when an ambulance arrives at the funeral home to bring in his body, Summer breaks down in tears. Will the truth ever come to light?
