Sam’s Onto Will, And He’s On A Mission
When Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) shows Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) a boy’s tracksuit top she found at the flat, Megan quickly insists it belongs to Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).
Sam feels suspicious and confronts Will to ask if there’s something happening between Lee (Oscar Aldersley) and their teacher.
Will pretends the idea is absurd, but when Sam discovers the tracksuit top in his sports bag, it confirms that something shady is going on.
Will rushes home to warn Megan that they need to be cautious, and later, she sees a chance to catch Sam while he’s doing his homework at Speed Daal. How will she get out of this situation?
Summer’s Drinking
Summer goes to the station and is happy to find that Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) has recovered her stolen rucksack; even better, the bag still contains her part of Paul Foreman’s (Peter Ash) ashes.
The grief of losing both her dads in such a short time starts to weigh on her again, and during her shift at the corner shop, she takes some alcohol from the fridge.
Meanwhile, Roy Cropper (David Neilson) learns shocking news about his pen pal—he’s on his way to meet pen pal Alice (uncredited) and stops by Alahan’s to pick up some sweets.
He discovers the troubled girl drunk behind the counter and has to raise the alarm; later, Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove) visits Summer and tells her she has a plan for Paul’s ashes.
Roy Is Confronted With An Uncomfortable Truth
Following his unfortunate encounter with Summer, Roy confides in Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) that he felt compelled to send a bouquet of flowers to Alice as a gesture of apology. To his relief, he discovers that it appears that she has accepted his apology.
Yet, his sense of calm is quickly disrupted when a gentleman in his 50s arrives at the cafe, introducing himself as Mal (uncredited) – the husband of Alice.
Now, Roy finds himself in a position where he must articulate and clarify his actions. Obviously, Alice had given no clues that she was a married woman!
Jodie’s Set Her Sights On Carl, Shona And Abi Give Her A Warning
Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances Brown) has her sights set on Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard). After witnessing a flirtatious interaction, Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine) decides to visit Jodie to caution her against getting involved with Carl.
She warns that he’s nothing but trouble and advises her to keep her distance. Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) joins in, agreeing with Abi and revealing that Carl had an affair with James Bailey (Jason Callender) behind Abi’s back, and that their own relationship was also born from betrayal. How will Jodie respond when he turns on the charm once more?
Ryan’s Attacked!
A tense and dramatic scene unfolds at the Chariot Square Hotel as two masked robbers storm into the reception area, demanding that Ryan unlock the safe.
Faced with the terrifying threat of a claw hammer, Ryan finds himself paralyzed with fear, unsure of how to respond. Once they manage to seize the cash, the robbers turn their aggression towards him.
In a desperate plea for mercy, he begs them to cease their assault, just as Carl makes his entrance. Will he be able to rescue Ryan and put an end to the robbers’ reign of terror?
Billy’s Funeral Arrangements Are In Progress, Theo Is Feeling Guilty
Funeral arrangements for Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) are in progress, and Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) is having a tough time. He feels guilty for causing Billy’s death and seeks advice from the Bishop. The Bishop reassures him that he is not to blame and suggests he talk to God.
When George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) leaves him alone with the undertakers for a moment, Theo sneaks into the chapel, stands by Billy’s coffin, and apologizes for not saving him. Suddenly, a door slams, and he fears someone has overheard him; but who could it be?
Debbie Finds Todd And Offers A Donation
At the same time, Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) finds Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) in Victoria Gardens and offers to donate £3,000 for the funeral, still feeling guilty about the situation. Theo sees them together and angrily confronts her, prompting Carl to rush in to defend his ‘sister’.
It’s a heartbreaking day as Billy’s friends, family, and parishioners gather at St. Mary’s for the service, and Todd becomes emotional while giving his eulogy.
Theo also speaks, but his words only add to Todd’s anger and guilt. By the end of the week, Theo discovers a final demand letter from a credit card company in Todd’s mail.
Bernie Starts To Self-Destruct
After the funeral, Bernie expresses her sorrow by lashing out at Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) with some truly awful comments, then heads to bed with a bottle of wine. The next day, Dev is taken aback when she drinks again during a wild night out with her friends.
While with Gemma Winter-Brown (Dolly-Rose Campbell), Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor), Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger), and Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins), she quickly downs several shots before declaring she’s going home.
However, at the Chariot Square bar, she takes another shot and orders a whisky. Roy’s pen pal’s husband, Mal, then approaches her, sharing that his wife is having an affair and he wants to drown his sorrows.
Bernie Messes Up
Bernie starts to open up, but Ryan notices she’s had enough and tells her to leave-what will Bernie do when Mal invites her to his room?
The following day, Dev is frantic with worry because his wife didn’t come home last night. Kit and Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) reassure him that she will be fine, while a curious Ryan listens; will he reveal what he knows?
When the family arrives at Sally’s for Brody Michaelis’s (Ryan Mulvey) birthday party, a disheveled and embarrassed Bernie walks onto the cobbles. She confesses to Gemma that she made a mistake and is worried to see Mal coming her way.
Abi And Debbie Worry About Kevin
As Abi makes her way to the garage, she is taken aback to discover Kevin Webster ( Michael LeVell) dozing off in one of the customer’s farm vehicles. It is evident that he is not doing well, and she sincerely wishes that Debbie might be able to provide some assistance.
The two women engage in a conversation about his latest troubles and come to a consensus that he is neglecting both his personal well-being and the responsibilities of his business.
The past few months have been traumatic for Kevin, with the bad news about both his and Debbie’s health hitting him hard. The breakup of his marriage to Abi caused by her affair with Carl certainly hasn’t helped matters any!
