‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers Weekly Update Jan 5-9: Debbie’s Horrible Aftermath, Kit Rescues Carla, Deadly Multivehicle Crash, Who Lives & Dies ?

Coronation Street spoilers and updates for the week of January 5 reveal Debbie Webster’s (Sue Devaney) horrible wedding aftermath while Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) rescues Carla Connor (Alison King).

The horrible wedding aftermath will play out after Monday’s episode with a crossover episode with Emmerdale, where there is a deadly multivehicle crash-and the question is, who lives and who dies?

A Special Week Of Corrie Episodes With An Emmerdale Crossover Episode

A unique week of Coronation Street episodes features a crossover with Emmerdale, showcasing how the residents respond to a series of events that begin at Debbie’s wedding to Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan).

As Debbie and Ronnie’s wedding wraps up, most guests are getting ready to head back to Weatherfield.

Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard), who is drunk driving, has his cash – mostly counterfeit – and is planning to flee the area, not expecting his sister Debbie to jump into the passenger seat.

She is set on stopping him, but he hurls drunken insults at her regarding their mother Elaine Webster’s (Judy Gridley) death and speeds away into the night. Kevin and Abi Webster (Michael Le Vell, Sally Carman-Duttine) notice the situation and pursue them.

Kit Finds Carla And Rescues Her, They Take Off After Becky Who’s Got Lisa And Betsy

In another scene, Kit finds Carla and, after getting a tip about Becky Swain (Amy Cudden), they rush towards Hull. Carla intends to take Lisa and Betsy Swain (Vicky Myers, Sydney Martin) to Rotterdam, but loses focus on the road when Carla calls; leading to tragic results.

Elsewhere, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) pleads with Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) to take him home so he can pack his bags before Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) comes back. However, it’s too late when he gets on the minibus heading to Manchester.

Shona and David Platt (Julia Goulding, Jack P. Shepherd) are shocked to discover Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) trapped in the bridal suite bathroom – allegedly due to Tracy McDonald’s (Kate Ford) actions.

The Story Continues On The Crossover Episode, Immediately Following Corrie

Todd, Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey), Cassie, David, Shona, James Bailey (Jason Callender), Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson), and Tracy are all there as a tragic multi-vehicle crash starts between Weatherfield and Emmerdale.

This next section occurs during the Corriedale crossover special, right after the usual Coronation Street episode. As a drunk Carl loses control of his vehicle, Becky gets distracted, leading to a series of crashes on a dark, stormy road between Hotten and Weatherfield.

Some familiar faces from Emmerdale will also be caught in the pile-up; Billy suddenly notices the situation developing ahead of him, but can he maneuver the minibus out of the danger zone? Kit and Carla arrive at the scene and try to save lives – and chase a fugitive or two.

Tuesday Through Friday: Weatherfield Mourns One Of Their Own, A Couple’s Life And Death Situation, Families At War And Shockwaves

On Tuesday, Weatherfield is mourning the loss of a resident, while others are still battling for their lives at Emmerdale’s Hotten General.

It seems likely that the accident occurred closer to Emmerdale than Weatherfield General, which makes sense-everyone is talking about the cause of the pile-up, but will the responsible party be found?  

Corrie comings and goings  suggest  Billy Mayhew might be the one who loses his life; on Wednesday, the drama continues after the crash as one couple from the cobbles faces a life-or-death situation.

On Thursday, Weatherfield Police take action, arresting a resident in connection with the chaos-but will they face any charges?

On Friday, families are in conflict, and more surprises are emerging in the wake of that terrible night; shockwaves are reverberating through Coronation Street.
