Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) collapses, Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) seizes, Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) clashes, Todd Grimshaw’s (Gareth Pierce) in the doghouse, and Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlelgrove) makes a challenge.
Debbie Collapses
Debbie is ready to reveal her dementia diagnosis to her family next week, but will she let them support her? She tells Bernie that being in the same room as Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) is challenging for her, so Bernie recommends they have drinks at the hotel instead.
At the Chariot Square hotel, Brody is at the bar enjoying a drink with a friend and is noticed to appear underage.
When Brody cannot provide ID, Debbie loses her temper and smashes his drink on the bar. As Debbie’s condition continues to make her behave unusually, her relatives are also facing their own struggles.
Kevin Prepares For Chemotherapy
Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) is getting ready for another chemotherapy session, thanking his wife Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine) and younger brother Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) for their unwavering support. Kev notices the tension between Abi and Carl.
Meanwhile, Debbie extends an invitation to Abi to accompany her to the Drag Night, while Carl volunteers to take care of Kevin and Alfie Franklin (Carter & Oakely Razak-Townsend).
However, the Websters soon find themselves preoccupied with a situation involving Debbie, which begins when Bernie becomes concerned after Debbie forgets to settle her bill at the café.
Debbie informs Ronnie and Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) that she must cancel the awards ceremony because of a flood at the hotel, but Leanne suggests hosting it at Speed Daal instead.
Debbie Collapses
Debbie observes Ronnie and Leanne enjoying a laugh together, but when Carl informs Abi that they are destined to be with each other, they notice that Debbie is also watching them.
Suddenly, Debbie collapses, and as she starts to regain her awareness, Kevin and Abi are adamant about taking her to the hospital. Debbie reveals that she is already aware of her condition – she has dementia.
Meanwhile, images depict Ronnie also present at the scene. Could this be the moment he learns the truth and realizes that Debbie ended their relationship to shield him?
Brody’s Seizure
In the meantime, Brody encounters yet another medical crisis, while his mother Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty) may be facing even greater difficulties. Brody attempts to provoke Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) and accidentally spills a drink on his work.
Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) warns Brody that she will arrest him for harassment, and Carla Connor (Alison King) is taken aback to find Lisa handcuffing Brody.
At the police station, Brody takes out some white pills from his pocket but refuses to disclose their identity to Lisa.
Left alone in a cell, Brody yells to Lisa that he requires his medication, but she walks away, leaving him to experience an epileptic seizure.
Will Lisa Realize Her Mistake?
Will Lisa come to understand her mistake, and realize he told the truth? In the meantime, Brody’s mother Lou refutes the claim that she reported Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) to the authorities after Maria is released while further investigations are conducted; is Lou being honest?
Lou reassures Gary Windass (Mikey North) that she has no desire for conflict, and Gary expresses his gratitude and offers her a beer.
However, Lou is unaware that Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) is worried about Lou’s children and intends to contact social services regarding her. Will Tim (Joe Duttine) be on board with that?
Dee-Dee Steps Up For Laila
Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) finds herself needing to take charge again with baby Laila Bailey (Raia Walton), but what implications does this have for her future?
James Bailey (Jason Callender) informs Dee-Dee that Laila kept him awake for most of the night, prompting her to offer to take over so he can get some rest.
Dee-Dee can’t help but beam at her baby daughter, leaving us to ponder whether she is still confident about not raising Laila herself.
Later on, Daniel proposes that Dee-Dee should reach out to Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) regarding a slot on student radio to discuss the maternity experiences of black women.
Dee-Dee Clashes
Dee-Dee opens up about her concerns, revealing that she feels she may not have the mental strength needed for the interview; will her feelings shift? Upon learning that Laila is due for her vaccinations while James is away in Leeds, Dee-Dee understands that she must take Laila herself.
She confesses to Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) how emotional the appointment was for her, and it’s only a matter of time before she and James find themselves at odds over the little girl.
Dee-Dee then clashes with James over the baby. Will Dee-Dee finally acknowledge that she desires Laila to be part of her life?
Todd’s In The Doghouse
In another part of town, Todd finds himself in trouble once more-he is determined to drown his sorrows after coming across a family photo of Theo Silverton (James Cartwright).
In response, Todd posts a picture of himself alongside Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) and Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) on his social media. Sean is taken aback when he discovers Theo on a dating app and quickly informs Todd.
As they talk, Theo manages to convince Todd that he knows who might be trying to come between them.
Later, Todd encourages Theo to join him at The Rovers’ Drag Night, but to Todd’s disappointment, Theo becomes preoccupied with messages from his daughter Millie (Kaitlyn Earley).
Theo’s Shock
When Sean accidentally reveals that Todd and Billy were once a couple, Theo’s shocked- while Todd quickly puts Theo’s phone on airplane mode. This leads Theo to think that Millie has lost interest in texting him.
As Theo and Billy grow closer, Theo later finds out that Todd had switched his phone to airplane mode, causing him to miss calls from Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson).
These were regarding Millie’s hospitalization, prompting him to leave in anger; by the week’s end, Todd catches Theo snapping an elastic band around his wrist.
Millie expresses that living with her mother is too overwhelming, so Theo proposes that she stay with them a little longer-how far will Millie go?
Bernie’s Challenge
Bernie encourages Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) to take a break and go out to have a good time, prompting Aadi to invite Amy and Summer to help him organize a party.
Aadi is determined to show that he can have fun, after Bernie catches Aadi in a conversation with Amy and Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby).
She quickly informs Aadi that he has aged prematurely, and needs to regain his spark. Can Aadi regain his youthful spirit?
