Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) suffers a life-changing ordeal, Debbie Webster’s (Sue Devaney) illness gets worse, Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) clashes with Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Hallsall) and more!

Dee-Dee’s Life-Changing Ordeal

Next week, Dee-Dee faces a troubling experience in the hospital as she becomes a victim of racial negligence in the maternity ward. While there, she reassures Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) that Frankie Bolton’s (Roman Thresh) stem cell transplant will go well.

However, Dee-Dee soon experiences intense pain and explains her discomfort to a midwife, who advises her to go home and rest.

Once at her flat, Dee-Dee’s waters break, and later, in the maternity unit, she is in severe pain while her father, Ed  Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges), searches for assistance. Ed and Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) are taken aback when a passing midwife makes an inappropriate remark.

Dee-Dee Has Pre-Eclampsia

A doctor checks Dee-Dee’s blood pressure and diagnoses her with pre-eclampsia, indicating that the baby must be delivered immediately. Dee-Dee is filled with fear, and as the week goes on, her family is finally permitted to visit her.

However, she appears distressed when her brother James Bailey (Jason Callender) expresses his desire to name the baby Laila. In a private moment with Ed, Dee-Dee shares that she underwent an emergency hysterectomy and will not be able to have more children.

Ed encourages her to carefully consider the decision to give up her child, while James realizes the implications this could have on their lives.

James Receives A Text That Could Change Everything

Dee-Dee comes to a conclusion about Laila’s future just as James receives a text that could alter everything.

Dee-Dee gets ready to leave the hospital when a concerned Ed shows up with the baby in a car seat, surprising her with the reason he is taking care of Laila.

Dee-Dee then informs Alya and Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) that her situation could have been prevented due to serious negligence, and she intends to file a formal complaint.

As Alya offers to help her begin the process, will Dee-Dee succeed in this battle? And can she truly let go of her baby?

Channique Sterling-Brown Speaks Up About The Storyline

Star Sterling-Brown has expressed, “The narrative we aim to convey is one rooted in honesty. I believe there is no ill intent in Dee Dee’s care.

However, she is in a ward that is both overworked and understaffed. As a result, her voice may not be fully acknowledged due to certain assumptions that could be influencing the situation.

Additionally, I sense that she might be in a state of denial, as she may not feel entirely prepared to welcome her baby. This leads to a troubling mix where her suffering is overlooked, ultimately placing her in a dire circumstance that leaves her feeling very frightened.”

Debbie’s Illness Worsens

Debbie tells Kevin to take a break while she cares for young Alfie Webster (Carter & Oakely Razak-Townsend). However, their quiet time is interrupted by loud music coming from Mick Michaelis’s (Joe Layton) house.

Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) discovers Alfie alone in the living room and notices the back door is open, and  goes outside, and is shocked to find Debbie lying in the alley, disoriented.

Meanwhile, Mick and his wife Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty) are trying to build a friendship with Gemma and Chesney Winter-Brown ( Dolly-Rose Campbell, Sam Aston). Mick provokes Ronnie, who cautions Ches and Gemma to be careful, as Mick may not be as friendly as he appears.

Ronnie Slashes A Tire, And Debbie Sees It

As Mick departs, Ronnie punctures a tyre on his van, and Debbie witnesses the whole incident.

Mick demands payment for both his work and the damage to his van, having captured Ronnie on the van’s CCTV.

Meanwhile, Chesney tries to mask his worry during a meeting with Mick at the Rovers, while Mick and Lou seem determined to keep a close relationship with their new neighbors.

The question remains: will Ronnie face consequences for his actions against Mick, and has he come to understand that Debbie is seriously unwell and needs medical attention? Unfortunately, Debbie is expected to receive a dementia diagnosis in the upcoming months, which will deeply upset her fans.

Kevin Worries

Kevin feels anxious when Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine) has to leave him alone during his chemotherapy for testicular cancer because Alfie is sick at nursery.

Outside the hospital, Julie Carp (Katy Cavanagh) finds a distressed Kevin and suggests they take the tram home together. Meanwhile, a worried Abi struggles to reach Kevin and becomes upset when she discovers he was with Julie without informing her.

However, the couple faces more serious issues when they learn that their son, Jack Webster (Kyran Bowes), has gotten into trouble at school for fighting.

Kevin decides to prevent Jack from attending the end-of-term party, but during his next chemotherapy session, he confides in Abi that he may have been too harsh on Jack.

Kevin And Tyrone Clash Over Their Mischievous Kids

At the police station, Jack and Hope Dobbs (Isabella Flanagan) notice two e-bikes left behind by Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Toyah Habeeb (Georgia Taylor). The teens decide to pay for the scooters and enjoy a bottle of alcohol that Hope Dobbs (Isabella Flanagan) had brought along.

Just then, Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) and his police partner Jess (uncredited) arrive, followed by Tyrone and Kevin.

Jack confesses that he used Kev’s credit card to buy the bikes; later, Tyrone and an angry Kevin argue about whose child is more misbehaved and who is influencing whom negatively. Could this lead to the end of Kevin and Tyrone’s long friendship?

Jenny’s Tricked

Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) and her mother Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) set their sights on Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews).

Still feeling hurt from their argument, Daisy tells Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) that Jenny has crossed a line this time; when Christina arrives at the Rovers, Daisy pretends to be surprised.

As Christina asserts herself again, Daisy tells Jenny that she may never forgive her for the hurtful things she said.

As the week goes on, a thrilled Daisy and Christina lure Jenny in when she shares that she has met a great guy named Dom on a dating app.

They escalate their plan with a bouquet of flowers, and Christina sends another message- Daisy is concerned Jenny will want to meet Dom face-to-face; will Jenny discover their malicious plot?

Todd Is Crushed

Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) feels disheartened about his new romantic interest, Theo Silverton (James Cartwright); when they meet, Theo nervously apologizes for being secretive.

Todd opens some beers, helping Theo to relax-as they talk, Theo confesses that he finds Todd attractive, they share a passionate kiss and spend a cozy afternoon together.

However, Theo later reveals that his life is complicated and suggests they keep their relationship a secret. When they hear George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver), and Julie coming home, Theo quickly exits through the back door, leaving his coat behind.

When he returns later, he tells a heartbroken Todd that their encounter was just a one-time thing; is their romance already over before it truly began?
