Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) proposes that Toyah Habeeb (Georgia Taylor) join him and Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) for tea, allowing Sam to become accustomed to seeing them together.
This way it won’t be such a shock to Sam before they share the news of their new relationship. Later, Nick shares his plan with Toyah: they will inform Leanne and then take a holiday, giving her space to process everything.
However, Toyah prefers to wait until after Oliver Battersby’s (Emmanuel and Jeremiah Cheetham) memorial and the trial.

When Leanne presents Toyah with a rose bush and suggests planting it beside Oliver’s tree in memory of Rose Battersby (uncast newborn), Toyah is deeply moved.
Leanne quickly discovers the holiday reservation on Nick’s laptop, prompting him to come clean-they’re interrupted when a police officer arrives to inform Leanne that her father, Les, has passed away at work. Stunned, Leanne rushes off to find Toyah, but Nick tries to warn her first.
The sisters share their sorrow only to realize that Toyah was already aware of the news. Toyah confesses that Nick had reached out to her, but Nick claims he only called about the schedule and that the news accidentally came up-when Toyah defends Nick, Leanne grows suspicious.
