Coronation Street Meets Bob The Builder In The Case Of The Wonky Staircase!
Remember Bob The Builder? Bob liked to ask, “Can we fix it?” And the answer from his buddies was always a perky: “Yes we can!”
Coronation Street character Ed Bailey just might want to take his cues from Bob the Builder. Just like Bob, Ed supposedly is a builder. But his staircase with that wonky rail has bothered viewers for some time now.
On social media, fans repeatedly asked why Ed had only partly renovated his home.
“Is Ed Bailey ever going to finish that house?” tweeted one fan last year.
And another responded: “Is the bannister staying like that?!”
And now (deep breath) the mystery of the wonky staircase has been solved!
“Finally that staircase has been finished in Ed’s house. It’s annoyed me for months #corrie,” tweeted one.
Another said: “YES ED’s finishing the staircase at last get Billy round to praise the Lord and bless that staircase lol #Corrie.”
One fan admitted yelling, “Finally!” at the sight of the completed banister.
With Ed apparently having taken his cues from Bob the Builder, let’s tackle another mystery: WHY does Corey Brent’s dad look so familiar?
Coronation Street Mystery Solved: Who Is Corey Brent’s Dad?
Ever since actor Paul Opacic appeared as Corey Brent’s dad Stefan, Coronation Street viewers have sought to puzzle out why Stefan is so recognizable.
Twitter lit up with guesses as to why Coronation Street fans recognized that face. The answer: Paul has appeared in other soap operas. Opacic took on the role of Steve Marchant in “Emmerdale” from 1996 until 1999. As Steve, Opacic portrayed Kim Tate’s second husband. But when Kim used him for her crimes, Marchant headed to prison.
Following his role in “Emmerdale,” Paul starred in Heartbeat, Doctors and Peak Practice. Playing Mark Waddle, Opacic also landed on the prison drama, “Bad Girls.”
Other roles include Cold Feet, The Bill, Totally Frank, The Chase, The Royal, Holby City and Waterloo Road. Although those roles were minor, Paul starred between 2010 and 2013 in Hollyoaks.
During his time on Hollyoaks, Opacic portrayed Carl Costello, the new owner of The Dog in the Pond pub. In 2018, Paul returned for a guest appearance on the show.
Now, on Coronation Street, Opacic will darken the cobblestones as he participates in the plot twists involving Dev Alahan, Asha, and Corey. As Dev noted, Stefan appears carefree and careless when it comes to what occurs in his own house.
