‘Coronation Street’ Star Alexandra Mardell Talks About Return

Coronation Street: Alexandra Mardell“Coronation Street” star Alexandra Mardell has teased her character’s return, wishing to see a more mature Emma Brooker in the future.

The Corrie star confirmed that her character is leaving the famous cobbles last February after playing the barmaid for four years.

On the viewers’ screen, Emma is involved in forbidden love with the pensioner’s grandson named Jon Spear (Jordan Ford Silver). Jon is still oblivious to the harsh truth that it was Emma and her friend Faye (Ellie Leach) who knocked over his grandfather last January which resulted in his untimely death.

It’s going to be a huge blow for Emma as this week Jon offers her to go with him to Australia to start afresh. But Emma’s fairytale is soon over when Jon unexpectedly shows up at the flat to get his phone, and Faye looks at him in shock.

It’s a dead-end for Emma and Faye as Jon demands answers and while the truth is finally revealed, Emma turns her back on the cobbles.

Although it isn’t revealed whether Emma gets arrested or if Jon will forgive her, the Corrie actress admitted that she’s “happy” with her ending.

‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers – Corrie Is An Open Door

While Emma is still on the cobbles, Alexandra already talked about her possible return one day.

She told the media that she can see why the people are staying there for so long and that she is just glad that her character isn’t killed off, which gives her a chance to come back to the long-running ITV soap.

“I’ve definitely not drawn a line under it,” she admitted. “… I don’t know what the future holds but I’m just so glad that Emma is still alive, and hopefully, she remains alive,” she told Digital Spy.

Alexandra said she would be interested to see how Emma has changed through the years off-screen. She wished to see a more serious and a more grown-up Emma but anticipated she’ll always have “those little ditzy bits” which make Emma as she is.

‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers – No Reason For Leaving

“I’ve had amazing stories over the past four years and it just came to a nice round circle. I thought it was my time now,” she said.

Viewers will see her last “Coronation Street” episode on Friday, April 8, 2022.
